NUVO Lighting 65-624 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the NUVO 65-624 canopy light run on 120V and on 277V building power?
The 65-624 LED canopy fixture accepts 100V to 277V, so the same unit works on 120V residential-style circuits and on 208/240/277V commercial feeds. That makes it a single part number you can standardize on across mixed-voltage properties instead of stocking two versions.
2) Can this LED canopy fixture be installed outdoors in a parking garage or an exposed walkway ceiling?
Yes. The 65-624 is an outdoor-rated canopy fixture with a Wet location rating and a cULus safety listing, so it can go on exposed exterior ceilings, canopies, garages, and gas station overhangs. It is a ceiling surface-mount unit, not a pendant or wall pack.
3) What does CCT selectable mean on the NUVO 65-624, and do I have to order a separate color temperature?
CCT selectable means the color temperature is set on the fixture itself, so one part number covers every color option and you do not order a specific Kelvin version. Useful if you are matching existing fixtures on a property, or want one item on the truck for several buildings. Lumen output shifts with the setting, between 2800 and 3322 lumens.
4) How much light does a 25W NUVO canopy fixture put out, and what is it replacing?
Output runs 2800 to 3322 lumens from 25 watts, with the range tracking the color temperature you select. CRI is 80+. At that output it covers low-mount ceiling applications like entries, breezeways, and garage bays where an older HID canopy drew far more wattage for similar light.
5) How much lead wire comes on the NUVO 65-624 for making up the connection?
Roughly 11.81 inches of lead wire comes off the fixture, which is enough to make up inside a standard outlet box without a splice extension. If your box sits back behind a thick soffit or you are landing conductors in a remote J-box, plan on adding whip.
6) Is the NUVO 65-624 canopy light dimmable, and can I put it on occupancy or photocell control?
The fixture is dimmable, so it can be run on a compatible dimming control rather than straight switched. It is an integrated LED with no replaceable lamp, so any dimming has to be done at the driver or control side.
7) Can the bulb be replaced in this canopy fixture when it fails?
No. The LED is integrated and the lamp is not field replaceable, so the whole fixture is the serviceable unit. Rated life is 50,000 hours, which is the number to use when you are budgeting replacement cycles across a portfolio.
8) What is the housing made of, and will it hold up outdoors?
Housing is aluminum alloy, which is the usual choice for wet-location exterior fixtures because it sheds heat off the LED and does not rust. The unit is also RoHS compliant. Note the California Prop 65 chemical listing for lead, which matters if you are specifying into a California project.
9) What finish does the NUVO 65-624 come in if I need to match existing exterior fixtures?
Bronze is the finish on model 65-624. If your other openings or canopies are in a different color family, that is the thing to check before standardizing, since the fixture is offered here in bronze only.
