NUVO Lighting SF77-702 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) Can the NUVO SF77-702 flood light be mounted in an unprotected spot exposed to rain?
Yes. The SF77-702 carries a Wet location rating and is listed for outdoor use, so it can go on an open wall with no soffit or overhead protection. Safety listing is cULus. It is a wall-mount fixture, so plan on a standard weatherproof outlet box on a vertical surface.
    2) Does the SF77-702 flood light come with a bulb, and what lamp do I need to buy?
No lamp is included. The SF77-702 takes one PAR38 lamp with a medium E26 base, rated up to 150W at 120V. A standard PAR38 LED flood with an E26 base drops right in as long as you stay at or under the 150W fixture rating.
    3) Can I put the NUVO SF77-702 flood light on a dimmer?
Dimming is lamp dependent. The holder itself has no driver or ballast, so whether it dims comes down to the PAR38 lamp you install and the dimmer it is paired with. Use a dimmable PAR38 LED with a compatible dimmer if you want control; a standard non-dimmable lamp will not dim no matter what switch is on the circuit.
    4) How far does this NUVO exterior flood light stick out from the wall?
Extension is 8 inches off the wall, with a 4.5 inch diameter body. Fixture weight is 1.73 lbs, light enough for a standard weatherproof box and mounting strap without extra bracing. Check clearance around door swings, gutters, and downspouts before you set the box height.
    5) Can I aim this flood light where I need it, or is it fixed?
It aims. The SF77-702 uses an adjustable swivel at the lamp holder, so once the box is set you can point the PAR38 down a drive, across a parking area, or up at a sign face. That matters on multi-family and MRO jobs where the box location is already fixed by existing wiring.
    6) Is the SF77-702 an LED fixture or a lamp holder?
It is a lamp holder, catalogued under halogen technology, not an integrated LED unit. Nothing is built in: you supply the PAR38 lamp, and there is no selectable color temperature at the fixture. If you want a specific CCT, pick it at the lamp.
    7) Does this NUVO flood light carry a California Prop 65 warning?
Yes. Lead is the listed Prop 65 chemical for the SF77-702. The fixture is RoHS compliant, which covers a different set of restrictions, so both apply. Institutional buyers who require the warning on submittals should note it.
