    1) Will the NUVO TH486 track head fit my existing track, or do I need to know the track system first?
    Track heads only mount to the track system they are built for, and the TH486 is a 120V ceiling-mounted track head. Before ordering, identify the track rail already installed (one-circuit H, J, or L style all look similar but will not interchange). The TH486 itself runs on 120V line voltage and mounts to the ceiling track, so it will not work on a low-voltage or monorail system.
    2) Can I use the TH486 track head in a covered walkway, bathroom, or unconditioned space?
    No. The TH486 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only. Covered exterior walkways, open soffits, shower areas, and freezer or high-humidity spaces call for a damp or wet rated fixture instead.
    3) Can I change the color temperature or replace the lamp in this track head later?
    No on both counts. The LED is integrated, so there is no replaceable lamp, and the TH486 is not CCT selectable, meaning there is no field switch for color temperature. Rated life is 30,000 hours, and at end of life the whole head gets replaced. If you need to tune color temperature per space after install, specify a CCT-selectable head instead.
    4) How much light does a 24W LED track head put out, and what does it replace?
    The TH486 draws 24 watts and delivers 2040 lumens from an integrated LED, with a 24 degree beam. That output is in the range of a 75W halogen PAR spot, so it works as a direct energy swap for older halogen track heads on accent or display runs.
    5) Can the NUVO TH486 be dimmed on an existing dimmer?
    The TH486 is a dimmable 120V LED head. Because the LED driver is integrated and not a line-voltage filament load, pair it with an LED-rated dimmer rather than an old incandescent dimmer, and keep in mind the total connected wattage on the circuit is 24W per head.
    6) How far does this track head hang down from the ceiling?
    Extension is 6.5 inches from the track, and the head body measures 2.38 inches length by 6.75 inches width by 2.38 inches height. Worth checking on low ceilings or anywhere a head could be hit by a door, shelving, or a tall display fixture.
    7) Is the NUVO TH486 safety listed for commercial installation?
    The head carries a cETLus safety listing, which covers both US and Canadian requirements, and it is RoHS compliant. Note the California Prop 65 disclosure for lead on this fixture.
    8) What finish does the NUVO TH486 come in, and will it match the rest of my track run?
    White only, on an aluminum body. If the existing track rail and heads in the space are black or brushed nickel, the TH486 will not match them, so pick the finish to the rail. The aluminum housing is also what does the heat sinking on the integrated LED.
