    1) Will the NUVO TH499 track head fit my existing track, or do I need to know the track system first?
    Track type is the one thing you have to settle before ordering. The TH499 is a 120V ceiling-mounted track head, so it needs a line-voltage track circuit, not a low-voltage or monorail system.     2) Can I use the NUVO 12W piston track head outdoors or on a covered patio?
    No. The TH499 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so a covered patio, a car park soffit, or anywhere exposed to moisture is out. For those openings you need a damp- or wet-location rated head instead.
    3) How far down does the TH499 track head hang below the track?
    Extension is 5.75 inches, and the head body itself measures 2.75 x 2.75 x 2.75 inches. That 5.75 inch drop is the number that matters in a low-ceiling corridor or anywhere you have a door swing, a shelf top, or a clearance height to respect. It weighs 0.77 lbs, so a long run of heads adds very little load to the track.
    4) Is a 36 degree beam angle right for retail display lighting, or should I pick a narrower spot?
    36 degrees is a flood-leaning beam. On the TH499 that spreads 1020 lumens across a merchandise bay or an art wall rather than punching a tight pool on one object.
