1) Will a Pass & Seymour TPJ4W jumbo plate cover the wall damage and gaps around my old 4-gang switch box?
That is what the jumbo TPJ size is for. The TPJ format adds 3/16 inch of width and height over Junior-Jumbo plates, so the plate overlaps more drywall around the opening. Overall it measures 8.75 by 5.0625 by 0.25 inches, which buys you extra coverage over cut edges, old paint lines, and oversized box openings on a retrofit.
2) What openings does the TPJ4W have, and will it fit decora or rocker switches?
Four toggle switch openings, one per gang. That is the standard rectangular toggle cutout, so it takes four conventional toggle switches side by side. Decora style rockers, GFCI receptacles, and duplex receptacles will not fit this plate; those need the matching decora or duplex opening version of the TradeMaster jumbo plate.
3) Is a nylon wall plate tough enough for a hospital corridor or a school hallway?

The TPJ4W is molded from self-extinguishing nylon at a nominal .070 inch thickness, which flexes rather than cracking the way a thermoset or thin plastic plate does when a cart or a ladder hits it. 4) Should I order the jumbo TPJ plate or the standard size for my 4-gang switch bank?

On a retrofit, a repaint, or any wall where the old opening was cut oversized, the extra 3/16 inch of width and height on the TPJ hides the gap. Note the jumbo dimension is added to the outside of the plate, not the openings, so the switch cutout spacing still matches standard 4-gang device spacing.
5) I need a wall plate for a data or phone jack, not switches. Is the TPJ4W the right one?
No. The TPJ4W is cut for four toggle switches only and has no modular jack opening. For voice or data you want a plate built for the jack itself, such as the Eaton wallplate with a 4-conductor Type 625B4 modular jack. Do not try to fit a jack behind a toggle cutout.
6) Does the TPJ4W wall plate come with mounting screws?
Wall plates in the TradeMaster line ship with the mounting screws in the matching color, and they thread into the 6-32 tapped holes in the switch strap, not into the box. If you are replacing switches at the same time, the new devices come with their own screws too, so you will have spares either way.
7) What white is the Pass & Seymour TPJ4W, gloss or matte?
