OATEY 759-1 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What drain size does the Oatey 759-1 pop-up assembly fit?
The Oatey 759-1 is a 1-1/4 inch pop-up drain assembly, which is the standard lavatory drain tailpiece size on bathroom sinks. If the sink you are working on has a 1-1/2 inch drain outlet (typical of kitchen sinks and tubs), this is not the right part.
2) Is a pop-up assembly the right drain for a faucet without a lift rod?
No. A pop-up assembly like the Oatey 759-1 is operated by a lift rod and clevis linkage running down from the faucet body, so the faucet has to be drilled for a pop-up rod. On a faucet with no lift rod, use a grid strainer or a push-button style drain instead.
3) How much does the Oatey 759-1 pop-up drain assembly weigh for shipping or stocking?
Listed weight on the 759-1 is 1.167 lb with a shipping volume of 0.037, which is useful if you are palletizing or stocking these in quantity for a multi-family or hotel bathroom refit.
