BEST A106-001 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Arm-A-Dor A106-001 double door kit actually do on a pair of doors?
It is the double door kit for BEST Arm-A-Dor exit devices, supplying the hardware that lets a pair of Arm-A-Dor devices work together on two leaves instead of one. It is not an exit device itself, so it does not lock or latch anything on its own. You order it in addition to the Arm-A-Dor devices going on the opening.
2) Does the A106-001 kit work with any Arm-A-Dor model, or only certain ones?
It is the standard kit for all Arm-A-Dor series exit device models, so you do not need to match it to a specific device model number. What you do need to confirm is that the devices on your opening are Arm-A-Dor; the kit is built for that series and nothing else.
3) Can I use the Arm-A-Dor A106-001 kit on a single door?
No. The A106-001 is specifically the double door kit, meant for paired exit devices on two leaves. A single-leaf Arm-A-Dor installation does not need it.
4) Where do I find install instructions for the Arm-A-Dor double door kit?
BEST publishes Arm-A-Dor installation instructions as a PDF, and it is the document to work from for this kit: https://zensupply.com/content/pdf/best/4414671649051. Install it alongside the instructions for the Arm-A-Dor devices themselves, since the kit integrates into those devices rather than mounting independently.
5) Do I need to specify handing or a finish when ordering the A106-001 double door kit?
No. The A106-001 ships as one configuration, model A106-001, with no handing or finish choice to make. Handing decisions belong to the Arm-A-Dor devices and trim, not to this kit.
6) Is the Arm-A-Dor A106-001 kit rated for commercial use, or is it residential-grade?
Commercial. It is a commercial door hardware item, part of the Arm-A-Dor maximum security exit device line, and it is used in offices, schools, healthcare, municipal buildings, warehouses, and multi-tenant residential.
