Pro-Lok - 4 Piece Follower Set

Four machined aluminum followers: two standard size (LT371-495), one small (LT371-395), and one large (LT371-555). The three diameters cover the common cylinder plug sizes a locksmith runs into, so you are not stopping a rekey because the one follower on the bench is the wrong size. Each follower is also sold on its own if you only need to replace one.

A follower is the plug-sized rod that pushes the cylinder plug out of the shell and holds the top pins and springs up in the chambers while the plug is out. Without one the top pins and springs dump into your lap and the cylinder has to be rebuilt from scratch. The Pro-Lok LT371 set gives you three sizes, so you can match the follower to the plug diameter rather than forcing an approximate fit.

Yes. The standard (LT371-495), small (LT371-395), and large (LT371-555) followers are each available individually, which is what you want if you have lost one out of a kit or only ever work one cylinder line. The four piece set is the better buy if you service mixed hardware and want all three diameters on hand.

Two standard followers (LT371-495) are included because the standard diameter is the one you use on most cylinders, and having a second means one stays in the cylinder holding the pins while you set up the next plug. It also covers the follower that inevitably walks off the bench.

Machined aluminum, not plastic. Aluminum holds its diameter under repeated use and will not deform or shed material into the cylinder chambers the way a soft plastic rod can, which matters on a bench tool you push through hundreds of plugs.

It is a bench tool, not a component that goes into a door. The followers are used at the workbench or in the van to service and rekey cylinders; nothing from the set is installed in the lock.
