RAB ST12B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the RAB ST12 stem extension used for on a landscape lighting fixture?
The ST12 is a 12 inch stem extension that raises a landscape lighting fixture off its mount so you can set the head height and aim the beam where you want it. It is a mounting component only, not a fixture or a lamp, so it goes between the fixture and its existing stem or mount on a RAB landscape lighting assembly.
2) How much height does the RAB ST12 add, and can I stack two of them for more?
Each ST12 adds 12 inches of stem. If a shrub bed has grown up over a path light and you need more lift than that, order the count you need for the run rather than looking for a longer single piece, since 12 inches is the length this stem is built at. At 0.3 pounds apiece the added load on the fixture and its mount is negligible.
3) What finishes does the RAB ST12 stem come in, and how do I order to match my existing fixtures?
Two finishes: black (ST12B) and verde green (ST12VG). Order the stem in the same finish as the fixture heads already on the property, since the stem sits in plain view above grade. For a property manager standardizing across a site, pick one finish and carry it for every fixture on the run.
4) Is the RAB ST12 stem extension rated for outdoor use?
Yes, it is an outdoor landscape lighting component, built to sit in the weather as part of an exterior fixture assembly in residential and commercial installs, including pathway, garden, accent, and security lighting.
