IDEAL Industries 36-075 Recip. Blade, General Purpose, 6 x 3/4 x .035, 10 TPI

It uses the 1/2 inch universal shank, so it drops into any reciprocating saw that takes a standard universal shank. That covers the common cordless and corded recip saws on a job site, no adapter needed.

For thin wall EMT and light metal you generally want a finer pitch, in the 18 to 24 TPI range, so at least three teeth stay engaged in the wall thickness. The 36-075 at 10 TPI is a general purpose blade, better suited to wood, nail-embedded wood, and rough demolition cuts. Use it for the framing and opening work, and keep a fine-tooth metal blade on hand for the conduit.

Bi-metal. IDEAL rates the bi-metal construction at up to ten times the life of a carbon steel blade, with high speed steel teeth for the cutting edge and a flexible spring-back body that resists snapping. If you have been burning through cheap carbon blades on the same cut, this is the step up.

That is what the bi-metal build is for. High speed steel teeth on a flexible backer handle nail-embedded wood without stripping the tooth line the way a carbon steel blade does. At 6 inches of blade you have enough reach for a 2x4 or 2x6 flush cut, and the .035 thickness gives a stiff enough body to keep the cut straight.

IDEAL calls the 36-075 shatterproof and built for tough applications, with spring-back flex in the body. That matters on overhead and blind demolition cuts where a blade that snaps sends fragments back at you.
