Sargent 11-2449 26D – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Do I need to order a separate rose for the inside and outside of the door?
No. The Sargent 11-2449 B rose works in either the inside or the outside position, so one part number covers both sides of the opening. Order two if you are replacing both roses on a single door.
2) What finishes does the Sargent 11-2449 B rose come in?
Ten finishes: 03 bright brass, 04 satin brass, 09 bright bronze, 10 satin bronze, 10B dark oxidized satin bronze oil rubbed, 10BL dark oxidized satin bronze clear coated, 15 satin nickel, 20D dark statuary bronze lacquered, 26 bright chrome and 26D satin chrome. For a repair on an existing opening, match the finish code on the rest of the Sargent trim so the door does not end up mismatched.
3) Is this a genuine Sargent part or an aftermarket copy?
It is a genuine Sargent OEM replacement rose assembly, catalogued by Sargent as 11-2449. For facilities standardized on Sargent mortise hardware, that matters: the rose has to seat correctly against the lock trim and spindle without shimming.
4) Can I use this rose to repair a damaged lock instead of replacing the whole mortise lock?
That is exactly what it is for. The 11-2449 is a replacement rose assembly, so a scratched, loose or missing rose on a 93 or 94 function Sargent mortise lock can be swapped out without pulling the lock body. Common on maintenance calls where the lock itself still works fine.
5) Is the 11-2449 rose suitable for a high traffic commercial door?
Yes. It is a commercial-grade part intended for office buildings, schools, healthcare, government facilities, hotels and multi-tenant residential, which is where Sargent 93 and 94 function mortise locks usually live. It is not a residential-duty trim.
