2) What does the storeroom/closet function on the TR-8204 trim actually do at the door?
Outside lever stays locked at all times and is retracted by key only. The inside lever is always free-turning so anyone inside can get out without a key. That is why it takes a single cylinder, on the outside face only. If you need the outside lever to be unlocked during business hours, storeroom function is the wrong choice.
3) Does the Sargent TR-8204 WTJ trim pack come with a cylinder?
The pack is trim only: the WT escutcheon plate and the J lever in Dark Bronze. It is set up for a single-cylinder storeroom configuration, so the cylinder itself, and the mortise lock body, are ordered separately. Locksmiths standardizing a building usually pull the cylinder from the existing lock and key it to the same system.

Note that it serves a Corbin Russwin mortise lock, so function alone does not make it a drop-in for a Sargent 8200 Series door.
6) Can a Corbin Russwin 483F80 lever and spindle be used in place of the Sargent TR-8204 WTJ trim pack?

The Corbin Russwin 483F80 is an outside lever and spindle for the Corbin Russwin ML2000 Series, for a 1-3/4 inch thick door. The two are keyed to different mortise lock platforms, so the 483F80 will not mount on an 8200 Series body, and the TR-8204 WTJ will not fit an ML2000 case. Stay within the platform already in the door.
7) What finish is the TR-8204 WTJ 20D, and will it match other 20D hardware on my doors?
