SATCO Lighting 80-963 18 in. Linear Rough-in Plate for 18 in. LED Direct Wire Linear Downlight

The Satco 80-963 is an 18 inch linear rough-in plate made for Satco's 18 inch LED direct wire linear downlight. It is the mounting frame you fasten into the ceiling structure before the drywall goes up, so the 18 inch linear downlight has a fixed, square opening to drop into later. It is a mounting accessory only, not a light source, and it does not include the downlight itself.

No. The plate is sized for the 18 inch LED direct wire linear downlight, and the plate length has to match the fixture length. For a longer run, order the rough-in plate matched to that fixture size rather than trying to adapt the 18 inch plate.

Neither. The 80-963 is a bare rough-in plate, with no LEDs, no driver, and no wiring. The light comes from the separately ordered 18 inch LED direct wire linear downlight that mounts to it. If you are pricing a complete opening, you need both parts.

Metal. That matters for new-construction rough-in, where the plate gets fastened to joists or framing and has to hold position while drywall is hung and finished around it. Shipping weight on the plate is 1.25 lb.

Satco publishes a spec sheet for the 80-963 that carries the dimensional and installation detail you would attach to a submittal package. It is linked in the product's spec documents. Country of origin on the part is China, which some institutional and government buyers need for their documentation.
