Satco Lighting 80-966 – Frequently Asked Questions

    1) What is the Satco 80-966 rough-in plate actually used for?
The Satco 80-966 is a 48 inch linear rough-in plate made to be installed with Satco's 48 inch LED direct wire linear downlight. It is the mounting/framing piece that goes in during rough-in so the 48 inch linear downlight can be fitted later. It is not a light source on its own, so you still need to order the 48 inch direct wire linear downlight itself.
    2) Will the 80-966 rough-in plate work with a 24 inch linear downlight?
No. The 80-966 plate is sized for the 48 inch LED direct wire linear downlight. For a shorter fixture you need the rough-in plate matched to that length, not this one.
    3) Does the 80-966 rough-in plate come in different finishes?
There is a single configuration of the 80-966, with no finish choice to specify. It is a concealed rough-in component, so the visible trim comes from the downlight that mounts to it.
