1) Can the Satco S11420 BR30 LED go in a fully enclosed recessed can?
Yes. The S11420 is an enclosed rated lamp, so a sealed or gasketed recessed housing is fine. It also carries a damp location rating, which covers covered porches, bathrooms and similar indoor spots where moisture is present but the lamp is not exposed to direct water.
2) Is the Satco S11420 BR30 dimmable, and will it work on my existing dimmer?
The lamp is dimmable on 120V, 60Hz line voltage. It is a two-wire LED lamp, so it needs a dimmer rated for LED loads; older incandescent dimmers with a high minimum load are the usual cause of flicker or drop-out when a handful of 8.7W lamps is the only thing on the circuit.
3) Will 2700K match the other bulbs in my building?
2700K is warm white, the same color incandescent and halogen lamps produce, so it blends with legacy fixtures in apartments, hospitality and residential common areas. It is not a selectable-CCT lamp, so the color is fixed at 2700K. If your property is standardized on 3000K or 4000K, this one will read noticeably warmer side by side.
4) Can I use the Satco S11420 in an outdoor soffit or an exposed fixture?
No. It is rated for indoor use in damp locations only, which covers covered exterior soffits, bath and laundry areas. Anything exposed to rain or direct spray needs a wet location rated lamp.

Either. Burning position is universal, so base-up in a recessed can, base-down in a pendant or lamp, or horizontal in a wall wash all work with no effect on the rating.
7) Is this Satco BR30 a three-way bulb for a three-way socket?
No, it is a single-level lamp, not three-way. Screwed into a three-way socket it will run at full output on the positions that energize the main contact and may not light on the low setting. For a three-way fixture you need a lamp specifically built for it.
8) Does this Satco BR30 qualify for a DLC-based utility rebate?
No. The S11420 is not DLC listed, so it will not qualify under programs that require a DesignLights Consortium listing. It is FCC compliant for electromagnetic emissions.
