Satco Lighting S21411 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the Satco S21411 PL LED work in my existing CFL fixture with a ballast still in it?
No. The S21411 is a 9W PL 2-pin LED lamp rated 120-277 volts, which means it runs on line voltage direct. The existing CFL ballast has to be removed and the sockets rewired to line voltage before the lamp will operate. If you want a lamp that plugs into the ballast as-is, you need a ballast-compatible (plug-and-play) PL LED instead.
2) Does the Satco S21411 fit a G24q 4-pin socket?
It will not. This lamp has a G24d 2-pin base, which seats only in a G24d socket. A G24q 4-pin socket needs a 4-pin lamp. If your fixture has 4-pin sockets, either change the sockets to G24d or order a 4-pin version.
3) Can I set the color temperature on the Satco S21411, or do I have to order a specific Kelvin?
Color temperature is selectable on the lamp itself, so you order one part number, S21411, and pick the CCT at install. For a property manager standardizing across downlights and sconces, that means one item on the shelf instead of separate 3000K and 4000K stock.
4) How bright is the 9 watt Satco PL LED compared to the CFL it replaces?
It puts out 1100 lumens at 9 watts. That lands it in the range of a 26 watt PL CFL, so you get comparable output for roughly a third of the draw. For a building retrofit, that is the number to compare against the wattage stamped on the old CFL.
5) Will one Satco S21411 PL LED work on both 120V and 277V circuits in the same building?
Yes. It is rated 120-277 volts, so the same lamp runs on 120V tenant circuits and 277V commercial lighting circuits. One part number covers both, which is what you want when a facility mixes voltages floor to floor.
6) What is the Satco part number and finish for the 9W 1100 lumen G24d PL LED?
Order it as Satco S21411. It ships in a white finish and that is the only configuration of this lamp.
