Schlage 11-112 - A Series Spring Latch, 1/4" Radius Corner, 1" x 2-1/4" Faceplate, 2-3/4" Backset

The Schlage 11-112 A Series spring latch is cut at a 2-3/4 inch backset, so it lands on a door prepped 2-3/4 inches from the door edge to the center of the bore. For a 2-3/8 inch prep, the Deltana G1RLE238 is a Grade 1 regular latch with an Entry function at 2-3/8 inch backset, and the Deltana G1RLP238 is the same 2-3/8 inch backset in a Passage/Privacy function. Measure from the edge of the door to the center of the existing bore before you order - that dimension, not the faceplate, is what decides between the 2-3/8 inch and 2-3/4 inch parts.

Just the latch. The 11-112 is a replacement A Series spring latch that works with A Series lock trim, so the knob or lever trim, the chassis and the strike are not part of it. Order it when the latch itself has failed or when you are changing the door prep and keeping the existing A Series trim on the door.

Only if that mortise is a radius corner prep. The 11-112 faceplate is 1 by 2-1/4 inches with 1/4 inch radius corners, so it seats in a routed radius pocket of that size. If the edge of your door is prepped square corner, this faceplate will not sit in it and you want a square corner latch instead. The faceplate size itself, 1 by 2-1/4, is the standard cylindrical latch face.

The adjustment is built into the latch. A Series latches adjust for flat or beveled edge doors, so the same 11-112 works on a square edge wood or hollow metal door and on a beveled edge, and the faceplate still sits flush against the edge either way. Nothing extra to order for a beveled door.

Plain spring latch. There is no auxiliary deadlocking plunger riding alongside the bolt, which is what stops a latch being carded or slipped. That is fine on interior office, corridor and passage openings. On an exterior door or any opening where someone can reach the latch, spec a deadlatch instead: Dexter sells a deadlatch for the C1000 Series.

Eight finishes are made in the 11-112: 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 609 antique brass, 612 satin bronze, 613 oil rubbed bronze, 625 bright chrome, 626 satin chrome and 643E aged bronze. Order the same finish number that is on the existing lockset. On the door edge only the faceplate shows, and on most commercial buildings that is 626 satin chrome, but if the building was spec'd in bronze or brass the edge should match the rest of the hardware.

Two things settle the order: the latch configuration and the finish. The 11-112 configuration is fixed at 2-3/4 inch backset with a 1 by 2-1/4 inch, 1/4 inch radius corner faceplate, so the only real choice left is finish. Handing is not called out, so there is nothing to hand on the order.

Stainless steel, and it is a commercial A Series part rather than a residential one, so it is the correct latch to put back into a Schlage A Series lock in an apartment corridor, school or office. Stainless matters most in the faceplate and bolt, where a plated part on a high use door wears through and starts to bind.

Not the right part for that. The 11-112 only retracts when it is driven by A Series lock trim, so it is not a standalone latching device. For a sidelite, the Accentra YSSL10 security sidelite auxiliary latch is purpose built, has an ADA compliant thumbturn, suits a 1-3/4 inch door and is fire rated.

Both are latches built to a 2-3/4 inch backset, but they are ordered for different reasons. The Schlage 11-112 is an A Series spring latch with a 1/4 inch radius corner and a 1 inch by 2-1/4 inch faceplate, made in stainless steel, adjustable for flat or beveled edge doors, and compatible with lock trim - it is a replacement part for a commercial opening that already has A Series trim on it. The Deltana G1RLE275 is a Grade 1 regular latch carrying an Entry function at that same 2-3/4 inch backset, so it is specified by grade and function rather than by faceplate and corner profile. If the door prep and the trim are Schlage A Series, the 11-112 is the part cut for it; if you are building the opening around the Deltana latch, the G1RLE275 is the 2-3/4 inch entry unit in that line.

No - those two parts belong to different lock families. The Dexter deadlatch is built for the Dexter C1000 series and is ordered against that lock. The Schlage 11-112 is an A Series spring latch, a certified Schlage replacement part with a 1/4 inch radius corner, a 1 inch by 2-1/4 inch faceplate, and a 2-3/4 inch backset, made to go back into Schlage lock trim. When you are replacing a worn latch, match the latch to the lock body and trim already hanging on the door, then confirm the faceplate shape and backset match what is mortised into the door edge.

Those are two different products. The Accentra YSSL10 is a security sidelite auxiliary latch with an ADA compliant thumbturn, it carries a fire rating, and it is built for 1-3/4 inch doors - a self-contained device made for the sidelite panel itself, which is why the ADA thumbturn and the fire rating are called out on it. For a facility where the sidelite has to meet accessibility and fire requirements, the YSSL10 is the part written for that opening; the 11-112 covers the A Series latch in the main door.

They answer different problems. The Lockey M230 is a mechanical keyless digital combination lock with a deadlocking spring latch and an adjustable backset, covering doors from 1-1/8 to 2 inches thick - buying it means replacing the whole lock and moving that opening to keyless combination entry, and the adjustable backset is what lets it land on either a 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 inch prep. The Schlage 11-112 is an A Series spring latch on its own, a replacement part at a fixed 2-3/4 inch backset with a 1 inch by 2-1/4 inch faceplate, adjustable for flat or beveled edge doors, that keeps the existing lock trim in service. If the trim and cylinder are still good and only the latch is dragging, the 11-112 is the part-level fix; if you want to retire keys on that door, the M230 is a full lock change.

Not with the Schlage 11-112. The A Series latch is adjustable for flat or beveled edge doors, so a single 2-3/4 inch backset part number with a 1 inch by 2-1/4 inch faceplate and a 1/4 inch radius corner covers both edge conditions, in stainless steel, and it comes in finishes including 626 satin chrome and 613 oil rubbed bronze so it can be matched to what is already on the other doors. The comparable latches are ordered on different variables: the Deltana G1RLE275 and G1RLP275 are Grade 1 latches split by Entry and Passage/Privacy function at 2-3/4 inch backset, and the Lockey M230 is a keyless combination lock sized by door thickness from 1-1/8 to 2 inches. For a mixed fleet of openings, know whether your split is edge bevel, function, or door thickness before you decide how many part numbers you actually need.
