That is exactly what the Schlage 14-001 is for. It is a replacement latch for the D Series, and it is made to work with the lock trim, so the lever or knob and rose already on the door stay where they are. You pull the lockset, swap the latch in the door edge prep, and reassemble. No new trim, no new keying, and the opening stays on the same lock platform as the rest of the building.

One part covers both. The latch is adjustable for flat or beveled edge doors, so you do not have to know whether you are working on a square edge hollow metal door or a beveled wood door before you order. Wood doors are commonly beveled while most hollow metal doors are square edge, and a fleet of openings usually has some of each. This latch handles the mix.

The faceplate is the piece you see on the edge of the door once the door is open, so on visible openings it should match the lockset. The 14-001 is offered in 605 bright brass, 606 satin brass, 612 satin bronze, and 613 oil rubbed bronze. Those are standard BHMA finish numbers, so if you know the code stamped on the lockset already hanging in the building you can order the same code and keep the openings consistent.

A replacement latch has to match the lock body it drops into, so start from the brand on the door. The Deltana G1RLE275 is a Grade 1 regular latch with an entry function and a 2-3/4 inch backset, so it lands on the same door prep. The two parts are sold differently, though: the Schlage 14-001 is the D Series dead latch, a stainless steel replacement part that goes back into an existing Schlage D Series lock and keeps its trim and keying. The Deltana is chosen by grade, function, and backset for a Deltana lock. Function. The G1RLE275 lists an entry function and the G1RLP275 lists passage/privacy. Both are Grade 1 regular latches at a 2-3/4 inch backset, so the door prep does not change between them - only what the latch is intended to serve. Order the entry version behind a keyed lockset and the passage/privacy version behind a non-keyed knob or lever. The Schlage 14-001 is a different kind of decision: it is the D Series dead latch, so the function is already set by the D Series lock it goes into.

They are not the same class of part, so one does not drop in for the other. The Lockey M230 is a complete mechanical keyless digital combination lock with a deadlocking spring latch and an adjustable backset, fitting doors 1-1/8 to 2 inches thick - installing it replaces the lock on the door and changes how the door is operated, since users enter a code rather than carry a key. The Schlage 14-001 is a replacement part: the D Series dead latch that goes back into the lock already hanging on the door, leaving the existing trim, keyway, and key system untouched. Choose the M230 when the goal is to get off keys on that opening, and the 14-001 when the D Series lock is staying and only the latch is being renewed.

No - latches follow the lock series they were built for. The Dexter unit is a deadlatch made for the C1000 series and belongs with a C1000 lock; the Schlage 14-001 is the D Series dead latch and belongs with a D Series lock.
