All of them share the same 20 inch width and 5.75 inch depth, so the height is the only thing you pick. 3) Can a NEMA 1 panelboard enclosure be installed outdoors or in a wet mechanical room?
No. NEMA 1 is an indoor, dry-location rating only, good against incidental contact with live parts and falling dirt. It offers no protection against rain, hose-down, dripping water or dust. For an exterior wall, a parking structure, a car wash or a washdown area you need a NEMA 3R or NEMA 4X box instead. Inside an electrical closet, corridor or tenant space, the steel NEMA 1 box is the standard choice.
4) How deep does the wall pocket need to be for a Schneider NQ panelboard box?
5.75 inches deep by 20 inches wide is what you have to frame for. On a recessed install in a stud wall that clears standard 2x6 framing but not 2x4, so plan the wall accordingly or surface mount it. Height depends on which box you order, 26 up to 62 inches.
