1) Is the JSS2438SS set screw stainless steel, and will it hold up outdoors?
It is 18-8 stainless, the common austenitic grade used for corrosion resistance in damp and outdoor conditions. 18-8 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and softer than an alloy steel set screw, so for high-torque clamping on a hardened shaft an alloy steel cup point holds better. Pick the 18-8 where rust is the concern.
