Metallics JSTHS1434 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many thumb screws come in a jar of Metallics JSTHS1434?
100 screws per jar. The jar pack is the only way it's sold, so order in multiples of 100 if you're stocking a van or a job box.
2) Can I tighten this thumb screw without a screwdriver?
That's the point of it. A thumb screw has a knurled or winged head you turn by hand, so covers and panels can be opened and closed with no tool. Useful on anything you expect to open repeatedly, like a junction box cover or an equipment access panel.
3) What is the part number to order for the Metallics 1/4-20 x 3/4 thumb screw?
Metallics part number JSTHS1434. That number covers the 1/4-20 x 3/4 thumb screw in the 100-count jar.
4) Is the JSTHS1434 an electrical fastener or general hardware?
Metallics catalogues it as an electrical fastener, a screw for electrical supply work. Nothing about a 1/4-20 thumb screw restricts it to electrical use, but it's stocked alongside the rest of the electrical fastener line rather than as structural hardware.
