5) Is the JFMB61 a machine screw or a self-tapping sheet metal screw?
It is a machine screw, so it needs a pre-tapped hole or a nut. It will not cut its own thread in sheet metal or drive into wood. For the tapped 6-32 holes in enclosures, device straps and box ears it drops straight in; for an untapped hole you need a self-tapping or sheet metal screw instead.
