It takes a pin-in-star (six-lobe with center pin) tamper-resistant bit, not a standard Torx or star bit. A plain six-lobe driver will not seat because the center pin blocks it, which is the whole point of the design. Stock the matching pin-in-star bit before the install or the fasteners can't be driven.

The TP213SBC is 18-8 stainless steel, the common austenitic grade used for general corrosion resistance, so it holds up in damp interior and typical exterior use far better than plated carbon steel. For chloride-heavy coastal or pool environments, a 316 stainless fastener is the better choice.

Button head, which is what the TP213SBC uses, sits on top of the surface with a low domed profile and needs no countersink. A flat head requires a chamfered or countersunk hole to pull flush. If the plate or enclosure cover has straight-drilled holes, button head is the one that seats correctly.

At 1 inch of shank, the TP213SBC gives you plenty of thread engagement through a thick cover or into a deep tapped boss, but on a thin plate over a shallow blind hole the screw will bottom out before it clamps. Measure the material thickness plus the usable depth of the tapped hole; you want the engaged length to be less than that total.
