Metallics CSH60SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size driver or socket do I need for the Metallics CSH60SS concrete screw?
It has a hex washer head with a 5/16 inch head, so a 5/16 inch socket or nut setter in an impact driver drives it. The washer-style head seats flat and spreads the bearing load, which is why these are used for strut, conduit clamps, and bracket mounting rather than countersunk work.
2) Can I use the Metallics CSH60SS 1/4 x 4 concrete screw in block or brick as well as poured concrete?
It is sold as a concrete screw, and that is the base material to specify it for. In hollow block or soft brick the thread will not develop the same hold, so for those substrates use an anchor rated for hollow or masonry base material instead of relying on this screw.
3) Is the Metallics CSH60SS a stainless screw suitable for damp or outdoor mounting?
The CSH60SS carries the SS designation in the Metallics part number, which is how the line identifies its stainless concrete screws. For anything on an exterior wall, a parking structure, or a wash-down area, that is the version to pull rather than a plain-plated concrete screw.
4) How many screws come in a pack of Metallics CSH60SS?
They are packed 100 pieces per box. For an electrical rough-in that works out to a full run of strut or clamp anchors in one package, so you are not splitting boxes across a crew.
