1) How many doors can a 1 Amp Securitron AQD1 supply actually power?
Budget by current, not by output count. The AQD1 delivers 1 Amp total at 12 or 24 VDC, and the distribution board splits that across either 4 or 8 independently controlled, power limited outputs. Eight outputs do not mean eight amps: add up the holding current of every strike, mag lock or electrified lever on the board and stay under 1 Amp total. A handful of electric strikes holding at 100 to 200 mA each fits; a bank of mag locks generally does not.
2) Does the Securitron AQD1 drop the locks on a fire alarm?
Yes, a fire alarm relay is part of the AQD1 with distribution board. It comes either as a single relay fire trigger that kills every output at once, or as individually triggered relayed outputs so you can release selected doors and leave others locked. Relay count is an ordering choice: 0, 1, 2 or 8. Pick 0 only if the fire release is handled upstream by the alarm panel.
3) What do I have to specify when ordering a Securitron AQD1 with distribution board?
Four choices on the order form. Number of outputs, 4 or 8. Number of relays, 0, 1, 2 or 8. Fuse type, glass or PTC Polyswitch. Fuse rating per output, 1 Amp or 2 Amp. All 32 combinations exist, so nothing on that list rules anything else out.
4) Will the Securitron AQD1 keep doors powered during an outage?
The AQD1 carries an integrated battery charging circuit and supports up to two sealed gel, AGM or wet lead acid batteries. The charger is built in, so no separate charging module is needed, and the circuit prevents overvoltage reaching locking devices while charging. Batteries themselves are ordered separately.
5) Is the Securitron AQD1 UL listed with the distribution board attached?
All combinations of AQ power supplies and distribution boards are UL listed, so pairing the AQD1 with any of the 4 or 8 output boards does not break the listing. That matters on a job where the AHJ is looking at the access control power as part of the fire alarm interface.
6) I need more than 1 Amp for my access control doors, what else does ZenSupply carry?

No, and this is the most common wrong order in this category. Motorized latch retraction devices pull a heavy inrush current at the moment of retraction that a 1 Amp supply cannot deliver.
