No fuse is included. The 30-C2616 fuseholder accepts a 13/32 x 1-1/2 inch midget-style fuse, so you need to order the fuse separately and size it for the luminaire load you are protecting.

The kit handles 2 AWG down to 14 AWG and is rated for both copper and aluminum conductors, so it works on the aluminum feeders common in street and parking lot lighting runs as well as copper luminaire leads. This version uses crimp terminations; IDEAL also builds the SLK holders with set screw terminations if you would rather not carry a crimp tool to the pole.

Yes. The SLK disconnect kit is Listed to UL 486D, which is the standard for submersible wire connectors, so it is suited to wet pole bases, handholes and below-grade junction points where standing water is a fact of life.

It is rated 30A at 600V with a 105 degree C temperature rating, so 277V and 480V roadway and area lighting circuits are within its rating, as are 120/240V circuits. Just keep the fuse you install sized to the fixture, not to the 30A holder rating.

It means the holder taps a through run rather than terminating it. Two line conductors land on the supply side (the incoming and outgoing legs of the circuit that continues on to the next pole), and one load conductor feeds the fixture at that pole. That is the Y-tap configuration, and it is why this kit suits a series of poles on one branch circuit instead of a single dead-end fixture.

The holder pulls apart under load in a knock-down event, so if a vehicle takes out a light pole the connection separates instead of dragging live conductors through the base. That is why IDEAL builds it for roadway, street, parking lot and area lighting. The body is bright orange so a crew can spot it quickly in a pole base or handhole.

Yes, this model is the crimp-termination version, so a crimper sized for 2 through 14 AWG is required to land the conductors. If a crew is working without tools on a lift, the set screw version of the SLK holder is the one to specify instead.
