Metallics MADOC14M – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the 1/8 in the Metallics MADOC14M part description refer to?
The 1/8 is the flange thickness the clip is made to grip. Match it to the measured thickness of the purlin edge you are clipping to; a clip sized for a thinner or thicker flange will either sit loose or refuse to seat.
2) What does the Metallics MADOC14M purlin clip attach to?
The MADOC14M is a spring steel 2-purlin clip sized for 1/8 inch material. It snaps onto the flange of a purlin or beam edge in that thickness to give you an anchor point for hanging without drilling or welding the structural steel.
3) Is the MADOC14M clip steel or a plated zinc casting?
It is spring steel. The spring temper is what lets the clip grip the purlin flange under its own tension rather than relying on a fastener to clamp it.
4) Does the Metallics MADOC14M come in more than one size?
The MADOC14M is a single part number covering the 1/8 inch 2-purlin clip. There is one model, so there is no size or finish selection to make on the order.
