Metallics EZSTPL5C – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many staples come in the Metallics EZSTPL5C pail, and can I buy a smaller quantity?
The EZSTPL5C ships as a pail of 500 staples, and 500 each is the order minimum, so that pail is the smallest unit sold. Metallics does make other sizes and quantities of the EZ Staple available on request.
2) What size staple is the Metallics EZSTPL5C?
It is a 1/2 x 1 inch EZ Staple. The wider crown and leg shape is meant to be handled easily in tight spaces so you drop fewer of them when you are working overhead or in a stud bay.
3) Is the Metallics EZSTPL5C Buy American or ARRA compliant for a federal or public project?
No on both counts. The EZSTPL5C is not Buy American compliant and is not ARRA compliant, and country of origin is listed as multiple. If your job carries a domestic sourcing requirement, this pail will not satisfy it.
4) Are Metallics EZ Staples metal, and will they hold up for electrical rough-in?
Metal construction, and they are catalogued for special purpose electrical use, which is the rough-in cable and wire securing work they are made for. The EZ profile is driven by hand rather than fed from a gun magazine.
5) What is the Metallics part number I should put on the order for the 1/2 x 1 EZ Staple pail?
Order Metallics EZSTPL5C. That number covers the 1/2 x 1 EZ Staple supplied in the 500 count pail.
6) How much does a pail of Metallics EZ Staples weigh and how much shelf or van space does it take?
A full pail runs 2.76 lbs and measures 8.12 x 8.5 x 6.37 inches, so it sits easily on a van shelf or in a gang box without decanting into another container.
