Blackburn SWC235A11290 STD FLEX BRAID 4H NEMA 1290MM LONG

It is a 4-hole braid connector. Both terminal pads are drilled to the 4-hole NEMA pattern, so it bolts to equipment pads prepped for four-bolt connections. If your bus or transformer pad is drilled 2-hole, this is the wrong part and you want a 2-hole braid instead.

It is built to IEEE / ANSI C37 and C34 1994. Those are the switchgear and bus connection standards a substation or utility spec normally calls out, so the braid can be submitted against a drawing that references them.

Copper, in flexible braided form with a flat cross-section. Flat braid lays tight against terminal pads for full surface contact, and the braided construction absorbs vibration, thermal expansion and small misalignment between two rigid connections without stressing the terminals.

Use a braid where the two connection points move relative to each other, from thermal growth, seismic movement, vibration or transformer settling. Rigid bar transmits that movement straight into the terminals. The SWC235A11290 is a flat copper flexible braid with 4-hole NEMA pads at each end, so it drops into a bolted bus connection in place of a rigid link while allowing that movement.

Sold each, one braid per unit. Bolted bus connections usually need one braid per phase, so a three-phase run takes three, plus any neutral or ground connection you are bridging.
