1) What is the difference between the 2G4DV 1/2 3/4 box and the -8L and -8R versions?
They are the same 2-gang Steel City device box; the suffix is the mounting bracket. The plain 2G4DV 1/2 3/4 comes with no bracket, so you fasten it through the box itself. The 2G4DV1234-8L carries an 8L bracket and the 2G4DV1234-8R an 8R bracket, which are the left-hand and right-hand versions of the same stud bracket.
