Safety Technology International STI-MBP0913 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Which STI cabinet does the STI-MBP0913 backplate fit?
The MBP0913 backplate is made for the STI-EM111504 metal protective cabinet, and that is the only cabinet it is specified for. If you are mounting a different EM series cabinet size, the backplate for that model is a different part number, so match the plate to the cabinet model stamped on your enclosure.
2) What gauge steel is the STI-MBP0913 backplate?
It is a 14 gauge plate, the same heavy gauge used on the EM metal protective cabinet line it backs. That weight is what lets the plate carry the cabinet and absorb fastener load on a wall or post rather than flexing behind it.
3) Do I need a backplate behind an STI-EM111504 cabinet, or can I mount it straight to the wall?
The backplate is an accessory, not part of the cabinet. Mounting the EM111504 directly to a solid substrate works on its own; the MBP0913 is what you add when you want a flat 14 gauge steel backing behind the cabinet, for example over block, uneven masonry, or where you need a rigid surface to pick up the cabinet fasteners.
4) Is the STI-MBP0913 a replacement cabinet door or just the back panel?
It is a backplate only, meaning the flat mounting panel that sits behind the cabinet. It does not include the cabinet, the door, the hinge, or any latch hardware. Ordering this will not replace a damaged EM111504 enclosure.
5) How many options are there for the STI-MBP0913 backplate?
One. The MBP0913 is sold as a single configuration with no finish, size, or hand choices to specify, so the only thing to confirm when ordering is that your cabinet is the EM111504.
