Sure-Loc BD-TR1 15 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Baden towel ring come in?
Five: Vintage Bronze (11P), Satin Nickel (15), Polished Chrome (26), Flat Black (FBL) and Satin Brass (SB). Finish is the only thing you pick when ordering, and all five match the rest of the Baden bath line, so a remodeler can carry one finish code across the towel bar, ring, paper holder and robe hook.
2) Is the Baden towel ring rated for commercial restrooms or just residential bathrooms?
Residential. Sure-Loc lists the Baden bath hardware as residential, intended for bathrooms and powder rooms. For a school, hospital or high-traffic public restroom you want commercial-grade washroom accessories instead, not this ring.
3) What is a solid brass alternative to the Sure-Loc Baden BD-TR1 towel ring?
The Baden BD-TR1 towel ring is built on a zinc substrate. If solid brass construction is the requirement, the Deltana 88TR6 is a 6 inch towel ring in the 88 Series made of solid brass, and the Deltana 98C2008 is a 6 inch Classic towel ring in the 98C Series, also solid brass. Emtek's Modern Brass towel ring is another brass-bodied option in its Modern Brass Bath Hardware line.
4) How does the Baden towel ring mount to the wall, and do the screws show?
It is a wall mounted ring with concealed fasteners, so once the post is on the wall no screw heads are visible from the front. Standard practice is to anchor into a stud or use drywall anchors where no blocking exists.
5) For a multi-unit residential job, what towel rings compete with the Sure-Loc Baden BD-TR1?
The Baden BD-TR1 is a residential towel ring offered in five finishes: Vintage Bronze, Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Flat Black and Satin Brass. Comparable series-based towel rings for apartment and single-family work include Delaney's Congaree 200 Series, Cascade 300 Series, Acadia 900 Series and Denali 1100 Series towel rings, and Orca's 3660 Swirl and 4860 Blakely towel rings. Each of those is part of a matching bath series, so you can standardize bars, rings, paper holders and hooks across units the way the Baden line does.
6) I need a towel ring with a published ring diameter instead of the Sure-Loc Baden - what are my options?
When the drawing calls out a ring size, Deltana states it in the part name: the 88TR6 is a 6 inch ring, the 98C2008 is a 6 inch Classic ring, the BBN2008 is 6-1/4 inch in the BBN Series, and the BBS2008 is 6-1/2 inch in the BBS Series. The Sure-Loc Baden BD-TR1 is specified by finish rather than by ring diameter, with Vintage Bronze, Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, Flat Black and Satin Brass offered.
7) The Sure-Loc Baden is a modern design - what if I need a traditional or bronze look instead?
The Baden BD-TR1 towel ring belongs to the Sure-Loc Modern collection. For a more traditional profile, Emtek's Traditional Brass towel ring sits in its Traditional Bath Hardware line and the Transitional Brass towel ring in its Transitional Bath Hardware line. For a rustic bronze appearance, the Emtek Sandcast Bronze towel ring is part of the Sandcast Bronze Bath Hardware series. Orca also offers distinct styling with the 2760 Cypress and 9160 Waldron towel rings.
8) Can I mix a Sure-Loc Baden towel ring with towel bars from another brand?
Functionally yes, since each piece mounts independently, but the finishes and design language will not match. The Baden BD-TR1 is designed to coordinate with the matching Baden towel bars, paper holders and robe hooks in the same series and finishes. Cross-brand pieces such as the Delaney Denali 1100 Series towel ring, the Deltana BBS2008 in the BBS Series or the Emtek Transitional Brass towel ring belong to their own coordinated families, so if appearance matters, keep the whole bathroom within one series.
