Sure-Loc BL-SET-PH2 15 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is the Sure-Loc Boulder paper holder suitable for a commercial restroom?
No. The Boulder two-post paper holder is classified residential and built for household bathroom traffic, not heavy commercial use. For a public or high traffic restroom you want a commercial-grade holder. It is a good fit for primary baths, guest baths, powder rooms, remodels, new construction, and multi-family units.
2) What is the closest two-post equivalent to the Sure-Loc Boulder Series paper holder set from another brand?
The Deltana 98C2001 is the closest double-post alternative. It is a classic double post toilet paper holder in Deltana's 98C Series, made of solid brass, so like the Boulder set it carries the roll on posts at both ends rather than on a pivoting bar. The Boulder set uses a two-post configuration that holds a standard bath tissue roll and is styled to match the rest of the Sure-Loc Boulder bath hardware pieces.
3) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Boulder two-post paper holder come in?
Four finishes: 11P Vintage Bronze, 15 Satin Nickel, 26 Polished Chrome, and FBL Flat Black. If you are matching other Boulder Series bath pieces or door hardware in the same bathroom, pick the finish code rather than the finish name, since the codes are what carry across the series.
4) What is the difference between a two-post paper holder and a bar-style or single-post holder?
A two-post holder, like the Sure-Loc Boulder set, uses two separate posts mounted to the wall with a roller spanning between them, so the roll is captured on both ends. A single-post design, such as the Deltana 55D2001 or Deltana BBN2001, cantilevers off one mount. Bar-style holders like the Emtek Modern Brass Paper Holder mount as one continuous piece. Two-post generally means two wall anchor points instead of one, which matters on drywall without blocking.
5) Do I have to buy the posts and roller separately?
No. The Boulder paper holder ships as a complete set rather than as individual posts, so you are ordering one item per bathroom, not components. That keeps the takeoff simple when you are speccing several units across a multi-family or renovation job.
6) Will this Sure-Loc holder match my other bathroom accessories?
It coordinates with the rest of the Sure-Loc Boulder Series bath hardware, so towel bars, rings, and robe hooks from that same series share the styling and finish codes. It will not be a design match to another brand's line, so if the rest of the bath is Emtek or Deltana, stay within that brand's series instead.
7) Is there a solid brass toilet paper holder alternative to the Sure-Loc Boulder?
Yes, several. The Deltana 98C2001 is a classic double post holder in solid brass, which is the closest configuration match to a two-post design. Deltana also offers the 88DTPH from the 88 Series and the 55D2001 single post, both solid brass. Those are the ones to look at if you want brass construction rather than the Boulder's residential bath hardware build.
8) How do the Emtek bar style paper holders differ from the Sure-Loc Boulder two-post set?
The Emtek pieces are bar style holders - the Modern Brass, Traditional Brass, Transitional Brass, and Sandcast Bronze paper holders each carry the roll on a bar rather than on two posts, and each belongs to its own Emtek bath hardware family (Modern Brass, Traditional, Transitional, and Sandcast Bronze respectively). The Sure-Loc Boulder set uses a two-post configuration and coordinates with the other Boulder Series bath accessories. Choose by which bath hardware family the rest of your towel bars and hooks come from.
9) For apartment turns, is there an alternative to the Sure-Loc Boulder set that uses a replaceable roller?
Yes. The Orca Hardware 2752 in the 27-Cypress Series and the Orca Hardware 4852 Blakely in the 48-Blakely Series are both toilet paper holders supplied with a plastic tube, so the roller can be swapped without touching the mounted posts. The Sure-Loc Boulder Series set is a two-post design built for residential bathrooms and is listed among its applications for multi-family residential properties and single-family renovations.
10) Is the Deltana 88DTPH a direct swap for the Sure-Loc Boulder two-post paper holder set?
Not a direct match. The Deltana 88DTPH is a solid brass toilet paper holder in Deltana's 88 Series, a different hardware family from the Sure-Loc Boulder Series, so it will not carry the Boulder design details across your towel bar, ring, and hook. If matching within one collection matters, stay in the Boulder Series; the Boulder set is offered in Vintage Bronze, Satin Nickel, Polished Chrome, and Flat Black.
11) Is the Sure-Loc Boulder paper holder electronic or does it need power?
No power, no electronics. It is a purely mechanical two-post holder for a standard bath tissue roll, so there is nothing to wire and no battery to service across a portfolio of units.
12) What paper holder should I use if I want a plastic roller instead of a metal one?
The Orca Hardware 2752 from the Cypress Series and the Orca 4852 Blakely both use a plastic tube roller, which some owners prefer for quiet operation and easy replacement. The Orca 3655 Swirl and 5255 Ripple are Euro-style holders if you want an open, frameless look instead of the Boulder's two-post format.
13) What is a euro-style alternative if the Boulder two-post look is too traditional?
The Orca Hardware 3655 Swirl and the Orca Hardware 5255 Ripple are both euro style toilet paper holders, from the 36-Swirl and 52-Ripple Series. Euro holders present as a single open arm rather than the paired posts used by the Sure-Loc Boulder Series set, which is styled to coordinate with the other Boulder bath accessories.
