Sure-Loc PL-1RD48 26 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) I need pulls on both sides of a glass or wood entry door. Is this the right one?
No. This Sure-Loc round pull is built for single-sided applications only. For a matched pair on both faces, a back-to-back set is what you want, such as the Deltana SSPORBB24 24 inch back-to-back round offset pulls or the Deltana SSPOBB24 modern offset version.
2) The 48 inch Sure-Loc pull is too long for my door. What shorter single-sided pull can I use?
The Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull comes in 48 inch and 72 inch lengths. For a much shorter single-side pull, the Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch contemporary pull, single side. Emtek's 8 inch door pulls are another short option, offered in the Baden, Brisbane, Arts and Crafts, and lost wax cast bronze Art Nouveau styles.
3) I need a pull on both sides of a glass or wood door, not just one face. What should I order?
The Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull is a single-sided pull, mounted concealed surface or thru-bolt with decorative caps. For a matched pull on both faces, the Deltana SSPORBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back round offset door pull set, the Deltana SSPOBB24 is a 24 inch back-to-back modern offset set, and the Deltana OHP620 is an off-set handle pull back-to-back set for doors 1-1/8 inch to 1-3/8 inch thick.
4) Does the Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull cover an ADA compliant offset pull requirement?
The Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull, Single-Sided is a straight round long pull for residential doors. If an ADA compliant offset pull is called for, the Ives 8145EZHD is a 45 degree offset door pull with heavy duty mounting hardware described as ADA compliant. Other offset options include the Ives 8169 C style offset solid pull at 1 inch diameter and the ABH AB3330 offset round end pull with custom length options.
5) What finishes does the Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull come in, and do both lengths get all of them?
Four finishes: 26 Polished Chrome, 32D Satin Stainless, FBL Flat Black, and SB Satin Brass. Every one of the four is offered in both the 48 inch and the 72 inch length, so you can run the same finish on a tall entry and a shorter interior door.
6) If I only need a short 8 to 12 inch pull instead of a full-length bar, what are the alternatives?
The Sure-Loc round long pull only comes in 48 inch and 72 inch. For a short pull, the Deltana SSP1210 is a 12 inch single-side contemporary pull, and Emtek offers 8 inch pulls in several styles including Baden, Brisbane, and Arts & Crafts.
7) Which of these pull products are not substitutes for the Sure-Loc Round Long Door Pull?
Several nearby items serve a different purpose. The Trimco 1001-1 is a 3 inch by 12 inch heavy duty push plate and the Trimco 1041 is an 8 inch by 16 inch half-round push plate, so they push rather than pull. The Trimco 1070 Series is a combined push/pull plate at 3-1/2 inch by 15 inch. The Cal-Royal PUL-175 is a night latch cylinder pull, 3-1/2 inch height, in stainless steel, which mounts over a cylinder rather than acting as a full-length door pull.
8) Will this pull match other Sure-Loc hardware on the same door?
Finishes are matched across the Sure-Loc range, so the Polished Chrome, Satin Stainless, Flat Black, or Satin Brass on this pull is the same finish family used on other Sure-Loc door hardware. Useful if you are specifying a whole house or a multi-unit build and want the levers, deadbolts, and pulls to read the same.
9) Is the Sure-Loc round long pull electrified or does it need any wiring?
No power involved. It is a purely mechanical surface-mounted grab bar style pull, no wiring, no access control tie-in, nothing to coordinate with an electrician.
