The LXWOW-25 is a 12.5 cubic inch box, which is the number you use for NEC box fill. Work that against the conductor sizes and the device, clamp, and ground allowances in your fill calculation. For a single switch or receptacle on 14 AWG it is workable; on 12 AWG with several conductors plus a device you will run out of volume fast and should step up to a deeper or two-gang box.
2) Is the LXWOW-25 a new work or old work box?
It is an old work box, meaning it is intended for cut-in installation into finished walls rather than being nailed to a stud before drywall. If you are roughing in new construction on exposed framing, you want a new work box with a bracket or nails instead.
3) Does this Thomas & Betts switch box have built-in clamps for NM cable, or do I need connectors?
Clamps are built in. The box carries non-metallic C-5 cable clamps, so Romex lands and is secured inside the box without separate NM connectors. There are two bottom cable knockouts for those cable entries.
4) Can I run 1/2 inch EMT into this galvanized steel switch box?
Yes. There is one 1/2 inch conduit knockout in the bottom and one 1/2 inch knockout on each side, so you can bring conduit in from below or from either end. All three are 1/2 inch trade size, so there is no larger opening if you need 3/4.
