Metallics MSCU – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics MSCU swivel hanger used for?
The MSCU is a swivel hanger for supporting electrical boxes and runs from overhead structure. The swivel lets the hanger pivot so the load hangs plumb even when the attachment point is not square to it. It is a single model, MSCU, supplied in a bag.
2) Is the Metallics MSCU hanger steel, and is it coated?
Steel with a zinc finish. Zinc plating suits dry interior work such as ceiling plenums and finished commercial spaces; for wet, washdown, or exterior-exposed runs, specify a stainless or hot dip galvanized hanger instead.
3) Is the MSCU a box hanger or a conduit hanger?
It is a box hanger. The MSCU is configured for half-square box work, so it is the piece you reach for when hanging an outlet or junction box, not a conduit strap or pipe clamp.
