Blackburn L35G – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Blackburn L35G a mechanical lug or a crimp lug?
The L35G is a mechanical connector, so the conductor is secured with a set screw rather than compressed with a crimping tool. That makes it a field-install part you can terminate with a hex key or screwdriver and a torque driver, no die set or crimper needed.
2) What is the Blackburn L35G terminal lug made of?
Copper. The L35G is a copper terminal lug, which is what you want for a copper conductor termination; for aluminum or mixed copper/aluminum runs you need a lug rated AL9CU rather than a copper-only body.
3) What part number do I give my supplier for the Blackburn L35G lug?
Order it as Blackburn L35G. That is the manufacturer part number, and there is a single model on the line, so there are no finish or size suffixes to add.
