1) What conduit sizes do the Thomas & Betts zinc grounding hubs come in?
Five trade sizes: 1/2 inch (H050GR-TB), 3/4 inch (H075GR-TB), 1 inch (H100GR-TB), 2 inch (H200GR-TB) and 2-1/2 inch (H250GR-TB). Note the gap: there is no 1-1/4, 1-1/2 or 2 inch step between 1 and 2 inches in this family, so for a 1-1/2 inch opening look at the Bridgeport Fittings MCH-200 Mighty-Bond stainless hub instead.
2) Will a 3/4 inch grounding hub thread onto 3/4 inch rigid conduit, or do I size it to the knockout?
Grounding hubs are ordered by trade size to match the conduit, and that same size is the knockout it mounts in. So the 3/4 inch H075GR-TB threads 3/4 inch conduit through a 3/4 inch enclosure knockout. If your box opening is larger than the conduit, you need a reducing washer set, which is not part of the hub.
3) Is a zinc grounding hub OK in a damp or outdoor enclosure, or should I use stainless?
The Thomas & Betts hub body is zinc, which gives corrosion resistance for general indoor, commercial and industrial conduit work. For washdown, coastal or chemically aggressive locations, a stainless body is the usual step up, and ZenSupply carries the Bridgeport Fittings Mighty-Bond raintight grounding hub in stainless steel for that. 4) What does a grounding hub do that a plain locknut and bushing does not?
A grounding hub terminates the conduit at the enclosure and provides a bonding point, typically a lug or screw provision, so the raceway is electrically bonded to the enclosure rather than relying on a locknut bite alone. That is why it is specified where the conduit has to be part of the equipment grounding path. A standard locknut-and-bushing termination gives you mechanical connection only.
5) Do I need a different hub for a raintight outdoor enclosure?
Raintight is a separate rating from grounding. If the enclosure has to stay watertight at the hub, order a hub specifically identified as raintight, such as the Bridgeport Fittings Mighty-Bond raintight stainless steel grounding hub. For dry and general interior terminations the Thomas & Betts zinc hub covers the bonding job.
6) Is there a bronze grounding hub instead of zinc for a threaded conduit entry?
Yes. The NSi G42 is a bronze threaded grounding hub from the G4 Series, while the Thomas & Betts hub uses zinc construction. Bronze is often specified where the installation standardizes on bronze grounding accessories; both are threaded hubs for conduit entries into enclosures.

Both are threaded grounding hubs for conduit entries, but they differ in body material and size coverage. Mighty-Bond is Bridgeport's stainless steel series, including the 1-1/2 inch MCH-200 and a raintight version; the Thomas & Betts hubs are zinc and run 1/2, 3/4, 1, 2 and 2-1/2 inch.
