Metallics DRT12HOK24 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many rods come in a pack of Metallics DRT12HOK24?
Ten pieces per pack. If you're hanging a run of conduit, strut or a fixture row, plan your drop count in multiples of 10 rather than ordering single rods.
2) Will a 1/4-20 threaded rod work for hanging conduit or light fixtures in an electrical install?
Yes, 1/4-20 rod is the common size for light duty overhead support, which is why this one is carried as electrical fastener stock. The 12 inch length suits short drops from deck or joist to a strut channel, conduit hanger or fixture hanger. For deeper drops you'd use a longer rod or join two with a 1/4-20 coupling nut.
3) Do nuts and washers come with the DRT12HOK24 threaded rod?
What's supplied is the rod itself, ten 1/4-20 x 12 inch pieces. Nuts, washers and any hanger or strut fittings are separate, so add 1/4-20 hex nuts and flat washers to the order if you need them on the job.
4) What part number should I order for a 12 inch 1/4-20 rod from Metallics?
The Metallics manufacturer part number is DRT12HOK24, which covers the 1/4-20 x 12 inch rod supplied 10 to a pack.
