1) Can I use the Topaz 101-103 squeeze connector outdoors or in a wet location?
No. The Topaz 101-103 squeeze-type BX/flex connector is UL Listed for dry locations only. Use it for interior rough-in, panel and equipment terminations, and armored cable into boxes inside the building. For a damp or wet exterior run, you need a liquidtight flexible metal conduit fitting instead, not this straight squeeze-type zinc die-cast connector.
2) What cable and conduit does the Topaz BX-Flex squeeze connector actually terminate?
It is made for flexible metal conduit (FMC) and armored cable (BX). The squeeze body clamps the spiral armor, so it works for greenfield/flex whips and BX runs landing in a box or enclosure, and it will also join flexible metal conduit to EMT. It is not a fitting for rigid threaded conduit or for non-metallic cable.
3) What trade sizes does the Topaz 101-103 connector come in?
Eleven trade sizes, 3/8 inch through 4 inch: 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, 2-1/2, 3, 3-1/2 and 4 inch. The common whip and BX sizes carry part numbers 100M (3/8 inch), 101 (1/2 inch), 102M (3/4 inch) and 103 (1 inch); the large end runs 157M (2-1/2 inch) through 160M (4 inch).

5) Will a zinc die-cast connector hold up in a damp mechanical room or parking garage?
The zinc die-cast body is naturally corrosion resistant, which helps in dusty or mildly humid interior spaces. But the UL Listing on this straight squeeze fitting is for dry locations only, so a wet garage deck or anywhere subject to condensation or washdown is outside its rating regardless of how the metal behaves.
6) Do I need a straight or a 90-degree connector for a tight box entry?
The Topaz 101-103 is a straight configuration fitting. It runs the flex in line with the knockout, which needs clearance behind or beside the box. Where the flex has to turn immediately at the enclosure, such as a panel gutter or a tight ceiling cavity, a 90-degree squeeze connector is the right call instead.
7) Can I use this Topaz connector to land flex into an EMT run?
