1) What is the difference between the LB and C type Topaz Schedule 40 PVC conduit bodies?
Type is the first thing to settle. The LB body turns the run 90 degrees, so it takes conduit coming along a wall and turns it back through the wall (or around a corner) with a pull point at the elbow. The C body is a straight-through pull body, same line in and out, used purely to get hands on the wire in a long run. If you need a direction change, order LB. If the run is straight and you just need a pull or splice point, order C.
2) What trade sizes do the Topaz PVC LB and C conduit bodies come in?
The LB bodies run 1/2 inch (1141), 3/4 inch (1142), 1 inch (1143), 1-1/4 inch (1144) and 1-1/2 inch (1145). So if you are running 2 inch or larger PVC and need a body, the C is what exists in that size.
3) Can I use a PVC conduit body as my equipment ground path?
No. PVC is nonconductive, so the body carries no bonding continuity at all. Any circuit run in this raceway needs a separate equipment grounding conductor pulled through with the circuit conductors. If you were counting on a metal fitting and metal raceway to serve as the ground, switching to PVC changes what you pull.
