TOTO THP5119#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is TOTO THP5119#CP and what part of the faucet does it replace?
THP5119#CP is a TOTO drain lift rod, the vertical pull rod that rises behind a single-hole faucet and operates the pop-up drain. It is a replacement part for the drain assembly on a sink faucet, not a complete drain kit or faucet.
2) Will the TOTO THP5119 lift rod work on a widespread or two-handle faucet?
No. The THP5119 rod is specified for a single-hole (1H) TOTO faucet. Widespread and centerset TOTO faucets use their own lift rod part numbers, and rod length and finish break differ between bodies, so order the rod listed for your specific faucet model instead.
3) What finish is the TOTO THP5119#CP drain lift rod?
The #CP suffix on the TOTO part number is polished chrome. If the rest of your faucet trim is brushed nickel or another TOTO finish, you want the matching suffix version of the same rod so the exposed rod and knob match the spout.
4) My sink pop-up stopper won't stay up, do I need a new lift rod or the whole drain?
If the stopper drops because the rod is bent, stripped at the threaded end, or the knob has broken off, the THP5119#CP rod alone fixes it. If the play is in the horizontal pivot rod, clevis strap, or the stopper seat itself, replacing the lift rod won't help; that is a drain body problem and you need the full pop-up drain assembly. Pull the rod and check the threaded tip and clevis screw before ordering.
5) Is any other hardware included with the THP5119#CP lift rod?
What ships is the lift rod itself, a service part for the drain assembly on a one-hole TOTO faucet. The clevis strap, pivot rod, spring clip, and stopper are part of the drain body and are ordered separately if those are what failed.
6) Is the TOTO THP5119 rod a good item to stock for a multi-family or hotel maintenance cart?
It is a sensible MRO stock item where the property has standardized on TOTO single-hole lavatory faucets in polished chrome. Lift rods are a common wear item on high-traffic public restrooms. For buildings with mixed TOTO trim, stock the rod in the finishes your faucets actually use, since the rod is exposed above the deck.
