TOTO TET2LBIA#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO TET2LBIA#SS, and is it for a toilet or a urinal?
It's a TOTO concealed electronic flush valve (EFV) for a toilet, rated at 1.28 gallons per flush. The application is toilet only, so don't order it for a urinal fixture, which uses a different flush rate and valve.
2) Does the TOTO TET2LBIA#SS flush valve meet the 1.28 gpf high-efficiency toilet requirement?
Yes. The valve flushes at 1.28 gallons, which is the standard high-efficiency water closet volume used in commercial retrofits and new construction. Pair it with a bowl rated for 1.28 gpf; putting a 1.28 valve on a bowl engineered for 1.6 gallons can leave you with carry problems.
3) Is this a concealed or exposed TOTO flush valve, and what does that mean for the install?
Concealed. The valve body mounts behind the finished wall and is serviced through an access panel or cover plate, so the rough-in has to provide that access before the wall closes up. If the existing fixture is served by an exposed chrome valve on the face of the wall, this is not a like-for-like swap.
4) What part number do I give my supplier for the TOTO concealed IoT toilet flush valve?
Order it as TOTO TET2LBIA#SS. The #SS suffix is the finish/trim designation on the model, so quote the number complete, including the suffix, to avoid being shipped a different trim.
5) Can I standardize restrooms in my building on this TOTO electronic flush valve?
It works for fleet standardization in offices, schools, and other high-traffic restrooms, provided each stall has the concealed rough-in and an access panel, and each bowl is a 1.28 gpf water closet. Because it's an IoT electronic valve rather than a manual handle, every location also needs the electrical/sensor provision the valve requires, so a straight handle-to-sensor conversion across a floor is a wall-opening job, not a trim swap.
