TOTO TEU2UAIA12#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TEU2UAIA12#SS flush valve for a urinal or a water closet?
It's a urinal flush valve. The model name spells out CONCEALED, URINAL, 0.125, so it's the concealed electronic flush valve built for a 0.125 gallon per flush urinal fixture, not a water closet valve. Water closets flush at much higher volumes, so don't substitute this on a toilet fixture.
2) Will the TOTO TEU2UAIA12#SS work on a 0.5 gpf urinal?
No. This valve is set up for 0.125 gallon per flush operation, so pairing it with a 0.5 gpf urinal bowl will under-rinse the fixture and can leave waste in the trapway. Match the valve flush volume to the bowl's rated volume, and specify a 0.5 gpf electronic valve if that's what the existing urinal is designed for.
3) What does "concealed" mean on this TOTO urinal flush valve, and what does that mean for the rough-in?
Concealed means the valve body mounts inside the wall behind the finish surface, with only the sensor plate exposed, rather than sitting on an exposed chrome supply riser above the urinal. That makes it a rough-in decision, not a retrofit swap: the wall has to be opened or already prepped with a carrier and access for the valve body. If the existing urinal is fed by an exposed valve on a riser, an exposed-type electronic valve is the direct replacement instead.
4) What is the TOTO part number I should order for the IOT concealed 0.125 gpf urinal flush valve?
Order TOTO TEU2UAIA12#SS. That's the full manufacturer part number including the #SS finish suffix, and it identifies the IOT connected electronic concealed urinal valve at 0.125 gpf. Institutional buyers standardizing a restroom group should keep the whole suffix on the purchase order, since TOTO uses the suffix to separate finishes on otherwise identical valves.
5) Is this a sensor-operated valve or does someone have to push a handle?
Sensor operated. It's an electronic flush valve, so flushing is automatic off the sensor with no handle to touch, which is why facilities buyers spec it for high-traffic public restrooms where hands-free operation and reduced handle breakage matter. The IOT designation in the model indicates it's TOTO's connected version of the electronic valve.
