TOTO TET1UBI4#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will a 1.0 GPF electronic flush valve work with any commercial toilet bowl?
No. A 1.0 gpf valve has to be paired with a bowl rated for that volume. TOTO's TET1UBI4#CP delivers 1.0 gallon per flush, so putting it on a bowl designed for 1.6 gpf can leave you with carry-out complaints. Match the valve's flush volume to the bowl's rated volume.
2) What does "exposed" mean on the TOTO TET1UBI4#CP flush valve?
Exposed means the valve body and sensor mount on the wall face above the fixture, with the supply visible, rather than being buried behind the wall in a chase with only a sensor plate showing. For a retrofit on an existing exposed flushometer installation, that's what you want. If the existing installation is concealed behind the finished wall, you need a concealed EFV instead.
3) Can an electronic flush valve replace a manual flushometer on an existing restroom toilet?
That's the common upgrade path, and the TET1UBI4#CP is an exposed valve so it goes where the old exposed flushometer was. Two things decide it: the existing bowl must be rated for 1.0 gpf, and you need power at the valve for the sensor. Confirm both before you pull the old handle valve.
4) What is the exact part number to order for the TOTO chrome exposed 1.0 GPF toilet EFV?
Order TOTO TET1UBI4#CP. The #CP suffix is TOTO's polished chrome finish code, and that's the single configuration this valve is built in.
5) Why would a facility specify sensor flush valves instead of manual ones for restroom toilets?
Touch-free operation is the main driver in high-traffic public restrooms, both for hygiene and because the valve flushes consistently instead of relying on the user. The TET1UBI4#CP is TOTO's exposed electronic toilet flush valve at 1.0 gpf, which also trims water use against older 1.6 gpf flushometers.
