TOTO TET6GBIA#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET6GBIA exposed or concealed mounting?
Exposed. The valve body and sensor mount on the finished wall face above the bowl, so you do not need an access panel or a chase behind the fixture. If your rough-in was built for a concealed valve with a wall plate, this is the wrong configuration and you want TOTO's concealed EFV instead.
2) Will the TOTO TET6GBIA work on a toilet spec'd at 1.28 gpf?
No. This valve flushes 1.6 gallons, so pairing it with a bowl engineered for 1.28 gpf means you are not meeting the fixture's rated consumption and you may fail a water-conservation spec on the job. Match the valve volume to the bowl the drawing calls for.
3) What does the IoT part of this TOTO flush valve mean for a facility manager?
The TET6GBIA is TOTO's IoT-capable electronic flush valve, meaning the valve is built to be network-connected rather than operating as a standalone sensor flusher. For a property or facilities team standardizing restrooms, that is the difference between walking every stall and monitoring the fixtures centrally. It is still a sensor-operated, touch-free flush at the bowl either way.
4) What finish does the TOTO TET6GBIA#CP flush valve come in?
Polished chrome. TOTO's #CP suffix is its polished chrome code, and that is the only finish this particular part number is built in, so if the rest of the washroom trim is brushed nickel or matte black you will need a different TOTO suffix rather than a different order of this one.
