TOTO TEU1LA12#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO TEU1LA12#CP, a urinal or just the valve?
It's the flush valve only, not a urinal fixture. The TEU1LA12#CP is TOTO's exposed-mount EcoEFV electronic flush valve for urinals, so you pair it with a compatible urinal bowl and supply rough-in already in the wall. If you need a complete fixture, order the urinal separately.
2) Does the TOTO TEU1LA12#CP mount exposed or behind the wall?
Exposed. The valve body and supply mount on the face of the wall above the urinal, which means no access panel and no chase work. If the spec on your drawing calls for a concealed valve behind a finished wall, this is the wrong configuration and you want a concealed-mount EcoEFV instead.
3) Will a TOTO EcoEFV exposed flush valve work as a retrofit on an existing urinal?
On an exposed install it can, provided the existing urinal has a top spud inlet and the wall supply stub is already in place, since the EcoEFV valve mounts entirely on the wall face. Confirm your urinal's spud size and spud center height against the TOTO spec sheet published for the TEU1LA12#CP before you commit, because those two numbers decide whether the valve lines up without re-piping.
4) Is the TEU1LA12#CP a sensor-operated flush valve or a manual handle?
Sensor operated. It's part of TOTO's EcoEFV electronic flush valve line and is a touch-free valve, so there is no flush handle for users to contact. That is the usual choice in high-traffic commercial restrooms, schools, and healthcare where hands-free operation and consistent flush volume matter more than the lower cost of a manual diaphragm valve.
5) What finish does the TEU1LA12#CP urinal flush valve come in?
Polished chrome, indicated by the #CP suffix in TOTO's part numbering. That is the single finish offered on this valve, so it matches standard chrome commercial washroom trim without a special order.
