TOTO THP3557#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO THP3557#CP cover for an exposed or a concealed flush valve?
Exposed only. The THP3557#CP top cover is specified for the GBEFV exposed flushometer, where the valve body sits on the wall in front of the finished surface. If your valve is behind the wall with only a sensor plate showing, this is the wrong trim piece and you need the concealed-valve cover for that model.
2) I manage a building with several TOTO sensor flushometers. Will THP3557#CP fit all of them?
Only the exposed GBEFV valves. TOTO cover plates are model-specific, and this one is cut for the GBEFV exposed body. Before you order a batch for a facility, pull the model number off the valve body or the existing trim on each fixture group; mixed generations of TOTO flushometers on the same floor is common in retrofitted buildings, and the covers do not cross over.
3) What finish does the TOTO THP3557 cover plate come in?
Polished chrome, and that is the only option on this part. The #CP suffix in TOTO's part numbering is the chrome finish code, so the full order number is THP3557#CP. If the rest of your washroom trim is a brushed or matte finish, this cover will not match.
4) Does the TOTO THP3557#CP include the sensor or control electronics?
No. It is the top cover plate for the exposed GBEFV valve, a trim part only. Sensor modules, solenoids, and power supplies are separate TOTO service parts and have to be ordered individually if the valve is not flushing correctly.
5) Can I replace a vandalized flushometer cover without shutting down the fixture?
The THP3557#CP is the exterior top cover on an exposed GBEFV valve, so swapping it is trim work rather than a plumbing repair. Standard practice is still to close the stop and kill power to the sensor before you take the cover off, since the valve internals and wiring sit directly underneath it.
