TOTO THP3242 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO THP3242 - a whole soap dispenser pump or just a seal?
THP3242 is a replacement O-ring for a TOTO soap dispenser, not the complete pump assembly. It is an EPDM rubber sealing ring measuring 14.6 x 1.9. If your dispenser body and pump are intact and you are only chasing a leak or a drip at a joint, this is the part. If the pump mechanism itself has failed, the O-ring alone will not fix it.
2) Is EPDM the right O-ring material for a soap dispenser?
EPDM is the material TOTO specifies here. It holds up well to water and detergents, which is why it is used on a soap dispenser seal rather than a fuel- or oil-rated rubber. Ordering a generic nitrile ring of the same size is a common substitution mistake in washroom work.
3) How do I make sure I order the correct O-ring size for my TOTO dispenser?
Order by the TOTO part number THP3242 rather than by measuring. The ring is 14.6 x 1.9, and on small seals like this a half-millimeter difference in cross section is the difference between a seal and a weep. Matching the manufacturer number is the reliable route.
4) I manage several restrooms with TOTO soap dispensers - is this a part worth stocking?
Seals are the usual wear item on a soap dispenser, and THP3242 is the EPDM O-ring for that service. Facilities running a standardized TOTO dispenser across multiple restrooms typically keep a few on the shelf so a dripping unit is a two-minute swap instead of a dispenser replacement.
5) Does the THP3242 O-ring come in different finishes or sizes?
There is one configuration only. THP3242 is a single EPDM O-ring at 14.6 x 1.9, with no size or finish choices to specify when ordering.
