TOTO THP4994S#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THP4994S#CP part?
It's a replacement spout assembly for a TOTO widespread lavatory faucet, sold as a service part rather than a complete faucet. Ordering it gets you the spout only, so the handles, valves and drain stay as they are on the existing installation.
2) Will a TOTO THP4994S spout work on a centerset or single-hole faucet?
No. The THP4994S is built for a widespread faucet, where the spout and the two handles are separate pieces mounted in three holes. A centerset or single-hole faucet puts the spout and handles on one body, so this assembly will not mate to it. For those you need the service part for that specific faucet body.
3) What finish is the THP4994S#CP spout assembly?
The #CP suffix on the part number is TOTO's polished chrome code, so THP4994S#CP is the chrome version of the widespread spout assembly. If the rest of the faucet trim in the room is brushed nickel or another finish, you'd need the matching suffix instead, not this one.
4) I manage a property with TOTO widespread lavatory faucets, how do I confirm this spout is the right replacement?
Match the service part number to the faucet, not the look of the spout. TOTO publishes a specific THP part number for each faucet model's spout, and THP4994S covers one widespread faucet family. Pull the faucet's model number (usually on the original spec sheet, the box, or stamped under the deck) and confirm THP4994S is the spout listed for it before ordering a batch for a fleet of washrooms.
5) Does the THP4994S#CP come with the valve cartridges or handles?
No, it is the spout assembly alone. On a widespread faucet the hot and cold valves sit under the handles in separate holes, so a leak or stiff handle is a cartridge or handle problem and this part won't fix it. Order those separately for your faucet model.
